Mirella Iwaniura, vice-president and chief accountant at the Pazim company is Godmother to the new Polsteam seagoing vessel Solina, whose christening ceremony took place on 9 January in China. 

The Mingde shipyard in Nantong hosted the christening and handover of the Polsteam vessel Solina (30,000 DWT), the penultimate vessel in a series of eight lake freighters ordered by Polsteam from the Mingde shipyard. The vessel’s godmother was vice-president of the board of Pazim, Mirella Iwaniura. As confirmed by the shipowner’s supervisor at the shipyard following sea trials, the vessel is very well made and will prove a safe workplace for all the crews who sail in her. 

"I can say out loud and with great emotion, that the Solina is mine. I must admit that I’ve been to the Bieszczady mountains and spent some wonderful times there, including on Lake Solina. How lovely it is to be able to continue my life journey with the Solina, this time with a beautiful ship of the same name,” said Ms Iwaniura.
